FIGHTING PAIN WITH POETRY

on 26/02/2015

Fighter

Like the full moon
Staring through my window,
So stubborn, not blinking,
My pain keeps me thinking.

Its firm hold,
Pain’s relentless grip,
My old pal, not befriended,
Body damaged, still unmended.

Deep is my breath,
Hidden deeper lie my tears,
Not to worry you, my loved one,
May you sleep before the dawn sun.

Punished or cursed?
Is my dungeon this pain?
Feeling, battling and thinking,
But I’m fighting, not blinking.
