Anita's Haven

books, thoughts, stories, poetry, interviews, writing

The rock stands firm
And the iron ring is strong,
But the knot is not eternal,
It is loose and soft.
You observe it from above,
It seems easier somehow,
Now that you know you can
Untie it yourself…
Now that you know you will
Untie it yourself.
You watch it with melancholy,
A smile sneaks by,
As sadness warms
Your memories in line.
It will stay here a while,
Let it be, let it tie.
The soul has no clock,
But it’ll know
The right time.

(This poem was inspired by a friend’s photo, and I am very proud to have her permission to use it here.)
